Platonic Soulmate Mixtape: A Stobin Zine is a fandom zine project dedicated to Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington from the Netflix show Stranger Things. This zine focuses specifically on their friendship and the chaos they endure together in Hawkins (or maybe even outside of it!).This will be a SFW zine project both in print and as a digital download. Despite that, we still ask that all applicants be 18
years of age or older to participate. In compliance with all applicable intellectual property law, Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington are characters from Stranger Things, a science fiction, horror, mystery and drama TV series on Netflix by Matt and Ross Duffer, developed by Monkey Massacre Productions and Upside Down Pictures. This is an unofficial project with no affiliation to Stranger Things.
Please note that more questions and information will be added as we receive them. We encourage you to review our guidelines document (included in the link navigation at the top of the page).
What is a zine?
A zine, short for ‘magazine’ is a small, published booklet or pamphlet with art, graphics, and fics created by an individual or a group that focuses on a specific topic of interest. In fandom they are an expression of our love for characters within a fandom and sometimes even specific people such as celebrities. What is the rating for this zine?
The zine will be rated SFW and rated T for mild gore and blood because of the graphic nature of the contents of the show.Is this zine for profit or non-profit?
This zine will be completely non-profit, meaning all remaining funds after production will be donated to a non-profit charity of our contributors’ choice. Our charity of choice will be announced on social media once it is finalized. How many contributors are you looking for?
We are still trying to hammer down the numbers but we are thinking somewhere around the following: 20 Page Artists, 10 Writers, 5 Merch Artists.
These numbers may change depending on contributor application turnout. Can other characters besides Steve and Robin be included in this zine?
Yes, they absolutely can be included, however they must not take away the attention from Steve and Robin as they should be the centerpiece of your work.Am I allowed to apply for more than one position?
Absolutely! However, out of courtesy to the other contributors and to ensure that everyone has a feasible workload, you will only be accepted for one position. Each application will be judged separately. What kind of content will be permitted in the zine?
We allow canonverse, alternate universe (AU), and canon-divergent content within our zine. This zine will be rated T so we will also allow profanity, canon-typical violence, and drug and alcohol use. Any potentially triggering written content is alright so long as content warnings are given. Are head-canons okay?
Yes! We love hearing your head-canons and seeing them being expressed in your work. Are applicants subject to scrutiny for the content they create and / or consume?
No. We believe that is not our business. We will not be judging applicants by their social media standings nor judge an applicant based on the other content they create and / or consume. We believe in maintaining a professional and respectful environment. As long as anything potentially triggering is warned for in terms of portfolios or in-server communication, we do not mind. We are solely interred in creating an enjoyable and fun fandom project with others in the fandom.
